Southern Railroad Theatre Company
Presents
Susan Jackson's live Southern soap-opera

ROCKET'S RED GLARE

Southern Railroad Theatre Company is
 headin' to the Russian River!!

In 2013, Southern Railroad Theatre Company
was invited to New York City to represent
the Bay Area in a high-stakes, theatrical Cage Match!
Altruistic Theatre Company’s BARE KNUCKLE THEATRE FESTIVAL!

Now, the producers of Incentives to Intrigue
and Buck’s Rivermill Dinner Theatre are collaborating to bring the
Southern Railroad Theatre Company
to the Russian River to perform in Guerneville’s new entertainment and dining destination.

ROCKET’S RED GLARE is a
good ol’ Southern soap opera where dogs rule, theSonic Drive-In is the place to be
and where forgiveness can be found.
Set in the town of Beaver Dam, Severinsville County, South Carolina
 ROCKET'S RED GLARE features
the lives and loves of its most colorful residents.

Company: Diana Brown, Robert Cooper,
Susan Jackson, Eric Nelson and Stacy Marshall.

In our first episode, October 4 2014:
ROCKET’S RED GLARE: The Beginning

Southern gothic meets healthy cuisine as Nandy, Peaches, Billy Barnett Wilmington, III
and Salacious P. negotiate the course of love at the Sonic Drive-In, with red trucks, tofu,
the truth behind what’s in a name and how to “Become a Lord and Lady over the Internet”.
Then Salacious’ soft side contrasts with his ambition as he prepares to collect his bigamist Daddy, Franklin from the train depot.
Meanwhile, Marion, Franklin’s wife up in North Carolina has had enough of his mendacity!

The saga continues in our second episode, October 5, 2014
ROCKET’S RED GLARE: Love and Politics

Nandy and Salacious’ on again off again romance, comes to a show down over who deserves to be the next Mayor of Beaver Dam.  Can Nandy be strong enough to resist Salacious’ charms and help her candidate and best friend, Peaches Nasterson become the next mayor?
Or will she surrender to love’s siren call?
Then, talk around the Sonic is all about the wedding of the Century.
The folks in the town of Beaver Dam inSeverinsville County, South Carolina,
never thought they’d see the day that Salacious and Nandy would stop fighting
long enough to actually get married, yet it seems that day has finally arrived, or has it...?

An evening of staged reading of new works
about Independence and Freedom
with just a little taste-of-the-South.

We are proud to present staged readings of new short plays
from some of our favorite fellow theatre companies with representatives from
Wily West, Expressions Productions,
Pacifica Table Readers, Playwrights Center of San Francisco,
Pear Avenue Writers Guild!

We've got thwarted love (is there any other kind?),
those awful machines at the airport, conspiracies,
book clubs, fireworks, and of course mid-life crisis,
something just a little French....it is Bastille Day, after all!

Southern Railroad Theatre Company
returns this December with the World Premiere
of Susan Jackson's new holiday play

It's just six weeks till Christmas and
the presentation of the annual Beaver Dam living nativity.
Usually the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary
goes to the Pastor's daughter but she's run off to California!

Now, the much coveted role is up for grabs
and for Peaches Nasterson, Amanda Haley Lynn Hollister,
and Crazy Lacy---the competition is fierce.

Join Peaches, Nandy, Lacy, Salacious Peterman,
Billy Barnett Wilmington the Third, and The Tulita,
as they face the challenges at hand.

Choices must be made:
Who will be the Virgin Mary?
Who will be the Baby Jesus? And will the fly metaphors
be enough to secure life-long friendships?

The Company:

Diana Brown, Robert Cooper,
Susan Jackson, Adrienne Krug,
Stacy Marshall, Eric Nelson,
Margo Sims and
Ann Thomas

When:
December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13,14

Royce Gallery
2901 Mariposa Street
